Top 10 Tips On Choosing A Photo For Your Business Website

May 21, 2010 By: ecpmmain Category: Homebased Business Articles

One important element of a business website is the About page.  This is the page where you can explain the vision and mission of your company.  If you are a small business owner, you may also include your personal photo so customers can know more about you.

In this post, let’s discuss tips on posting your personal photo on your business website:

1)Have your photo taken by a photographer. It is recommended to have your photo taken by a professional photographer.  Do not use an old photo that has been ten years ago.  Instead, always post a recent photo on your site.

2)Dress professionally. Before going to a photography studio, plan your attire.  You can choose to have one formal shot where you are dressed in a corporate suit and another shot where you are dressed in casual attire.

3)Pay attention to your hair and makeup. Wearing the right make-up can make a big difference in how your photo will turn out.  If you’re not sure how to apply make up, visit the salon before having your photo taken.

4)Look natural. When posing for the camera, a sincere smile is the best way to draw people in.

5)Have some beauty sleep. Make sure you get enough rest the night before your photo shoot so you can look best.

6)Use informal photos only when they’re appropriate. Informal photos with your family or you with your pets would be great on your business blog.  On your business website, choose a professional photo.

7)Use photo captions. The photo will surely be the first thing that will attract a visitor’s attention so it’s best to include a short caption that goes well with the photo.

8)Use testimonial photos. Aside from your personal photo, you can also create a testimonial page that shows comments from your customers.  Including photos of you with your clients can also be a wonderful testimony of the kind of service you bring your customers.

9)Show community photos. Have you participated in a community service?  If yes, post a photo of you with the group or the project you’ve worked on.

10)Have your photos taken beside a prominent landmark. A landmark in your city or community can be the perfect background for a business photo shoot as it will help people get to know your business location more easily.
