Top 10 Mistakes In marketing Google Adwords

Some internet marketers use Google Adwords to promote their products and services.  In this article, let’s take a look at the top ten adwords advertising mistakes that must be avoided:

1 ) Not setting a marketing budget. An advertiser must bid on a particular keyword that will be used to describe the link.  Bidding on keywords can be tricky so it’s important to set a specific amount of budget that you are willing to pay for Adwords marketing and stick with it.

2 ) Not considering the conversion rate of your keywords. Online merchants need to remember that a high click rate alone does not guarantee a high conversion rate.  Even if your links generate a large number of hits, if those visitors do not make a purchase, you could end up paying more on your advertising without getting the ROI you expected.

3 ) Wrong keyword research technique. It’s okay to use free keyword search tools that you can get online but if you want a detailed information about the best keywords for your business, you may consider using a paid keyword search tool for a complete evaluation.

4 ) Not writing relevant ads. It’s not just about choosing the right keywords but also writing effective marketing copy to encourage people to click on your ads and make a purchase.

5 ) Not checking statistics. Do you monitor the result of your marketing campaign by checking the statistics?  Analyzing what the figures tell you (number of clicks per day, conversion rate, etc) can help in deciding the next step that you should do.

6 ) Not paying attention to your products and services. All your marketing efforts may go to waste if your customers are not satisfied with your products and services.  See to it that you can live up to your promises.

7 ) Giving up too easily. Some home based internet businesses owners who used Adwords advertising were not as successful with their first attempts.  However, instead of giving up, they studied their execution, learned from their mistakes and made the necessary adjustments before they succeeded.  For starters, use only a small percentage of your marketing budget until you learn the ins and outs of a certain marketing strategy.

8 ) Not knowing when to switch. Based on the results of your marketing campaign, you should consider whether or not a particular advertising strategy works well for your company.  If that you’ve done all the steps correctly and still you do not get a sufficient Return Of Investment (ROI), then perhaps you may want to take a look at other methods of online advertising.

9 ) Not gathering e-mails. E-mail marketing is an effective strategy that you can combine with Adwords marketing or with other online advertising methods as well.  By building your own listing, you can surely reach out to your niche market.

10 ) Violating Google’s regulations. Before signing up for the Google Adwords’ program read and understand all the Terms and Conditions to avoid committing any violation.
