The mortgage loan market is one of the most competitive in the world of business.  Thus, mortgage brokers need to use affordable yet effective marketing tools in order to stand out.  In this post, let’s discuss postcard marketing tips that are especially applicable for mortgage brokers:

Use a headline that grabs attention. Spend time creating a headline that will not only grab the reader’s attention but arouse interest as well.  Be sure to offer something beneficial for your prospects.  Below are examples of substantial marketing headlines for mortgage brokers:

  • “How to Get a Low Mortgage Rate Despite Bad Credit”
  • “How to Find the Best Mortgage Loan in the Market”
  • “How to Spot the Right Mortgage Deal for You”
  • “Why You Should Get A Reliable Broker”

Make it personal. Postcards are not intimidating.  Many people prefer to receive postcards rather than a long business letter.  Postcards do not need to be taken out from an envelope and doesn’t take much time to be read.

Be accessible. You can use postcards to let people know where to find you online.  Most people search for information through the internet but how will they know that you have a website if they are not informed about it?  What can they get by visiting your site?  Do you have a mortgage comparison tool or can they subscribe to your newsletter for free?

Set a definite budget and stick to it. Before beginning your postcard advertising campaign, set your budget and stick to it.  This way, you can avoid spending more than what you can afford.

Keep track of the result. Sending postcards just once may not give you the results you expect.  You may have to resend to the same group of prospects at least second or third time to achieve your goals.  Monitor your result each time so you can proceed to the next step without hesitations.

Use postcards to say thanks. Brokers must not forget to show their appreciation to their clients after a deal has been closed.  Aside from your clients, consider sending thank you postcards once in awhile to realtors who have given you referrals; to your underwriters for the speedy processing of your endorsed mortgage applications; and to anyone who has helped you out along the way.
