Getting To Know Autoresponders

November 01, 2009 By: ecpmmain Category: Articles

Is it really important to use autoresponders?  If you are a business owner, using autoresponders can make your marketing tasks a lot easier. How?

Autoresponders and Managing Business E-mails

As a business owner, you may receive lots of mails in your inbox everyday. Some of these e-mails may come from prospects requesting more information about your products or services. Others might be from customers who may have questions about their orders. Reading these e-mails one at a time can be very time consuming. More than this, responding to each of these mails can really be a burdensome task.

Responding to your emails is crucial if you want to build good customer relationship. A customer may feel neglected or annoyed if his/her e-mail is left unresponded to for days. He may choose to cancel an order or buy somewhere else if he/she feels that he/she isn’t given enough attention.

This is where autoresponders come in handy. An autoresponder automatically sends a reply to the recipient once an e-mail is received in your inbox. Aside from responding to your customer’s e-mail, autoresponders can be used to send out newsletters, announcements, free training courses or polls to your customers. All these help to build stronger customer relationships.

Use Your Autoresponder Effectively

There are many autoresponder software applications in the market and each one differs in functions and features. Thus, before purchasing a particular autoresponder, know your needs first and make sure that the autoresponder will do just that. How can you make the most out of your autoresponder? Here are some tips on how to use autoresponders more effectively:

Create an effective subject line. Remember that this is the first thing that your recipient will read when he/she receives your e-mail. Make sure that your subject line immediately catches a reader’s attention. See to it that your subject line does not sound like an ad or the recipient might move your message to the trash.

Personalize your message. Remember that your goal is to build strong relationships with your customers. A personal message makes the recipient feel more special than a message that sounds too much like an ad.

Always state the benefits. When introducing a product or a service, keep in mind that your audience wants to know the advantages. What benefit can they get out of it?  Stress the benefits and focus on the solutions you can give. However, do not make false promises that you know your products cannot live up to.

Include a disclaimer in your autoresponder. A disclaimer statement protects you from any legal dispute that an unsatisfied customer may file against you. Always include your disclaimer statement at the end of your message.

Include links in your autoresponder. Make it easy for your customers to find your shop online by always including links in your autoresponder. Don’t forget to include different links from each of your web pages, not just your website’s homepage. Make sure that all the links to your pages are properly working.
