Effective Postcard Advertising at Trade Shows

March 10, 2010 By: ecpmmain Category: Postcard Marketing and Advertising Articles

Aside from sending postcards via post mail, they can also be used as handouts at trade shows or exhibits. In this article, let us talk about tips on how you can use marketing postcards to encourage more customer response:

Use postcards as vouchers. One effective way to invite more people to check out your booth at the trade show is to offer freebies or promotional items. Use postcards to spread the word about it. To get the free gift, all they have to do is bring the postcard with them to your booth and use it as a claim stub. This way, you can save your giveaways only to those who have taken the time to visit your location and check out your stuff.

Use postcards as discount coupons. Encourage prospects to visit your booth and purchase your products by offering special discounts. Hence, when a customer makes a purchase and shows you the postcard, you know right away that your postcard advertising campaign is working to your advantage.

Use postcards as an invite or pass. You may host a special sale event in your shop or host an exclusive show and use postcards as invitations. This is a great way to see which of your prospects are genuinely interested in the products or services you offer. If they choose to attend to your event, then you can be sure that they are your perfect leads.

Use postcards to drive traffic to your website. If you have a business website, distributing postcards at tradeshows is an effective way to let people know that they can also order products from your online shop. You can add a coupon code on the card for customers who are interested to make an online purchase. This way, you can track the result of your postcard marketing campaign more easily.

Use postcards to announce a grand opening. If you are just about to open your store, hand out postcards to announce your grand opening! Invite people to come and don’t forget to emphasize the benefits! Why should they not miss this big event? What have you got to offer? Will they be able to enjoy exclusive discounts or wonderful freebies for being one of your first shoppers?

Use oversized postcards. You don’t have to limit yourself with the standard size 4”x6” postcards. Oversized cards or sumo cards can contain more texts and information which is great especially for introducing a new product to the market. These cards are foldable as well so you can use the folded side to create an element of surprise!

Make them for keeps. If you make them really nice, many people will choose to keep a postcard and hang it up on the wall. For instance, you can add an inspiring or a humorous quotation to a beautiful background and it would make a great décor at desks or refrigerator doors. Another idea is to turn your postcard into a mini guide or a tip sheet that contains really useful information/advice.
