Advertising Your Home Business In the Offline World
While having a business website and marketing online is essential for a company’s success, an entrepreneur must never take for granted the importance of offline marketing campaigns as well. Yes, more traditional forms of advertising still prove to be wonderful tools in building strong customer relationships.
Take a look at these offline advertising methods that you can apply to your online home based business:
Print Ads. The oldest method of advertising, print ads are still considered to be the best way to gain wider exposure in the market. Aside from advertising in magazines and newspapers, be sure that your logo, brand name and contact information are printed on all your business papers (calling cards, letterheads, fax sheets, labels, invoices, order forms, stickers, memos, etc.)
Giveaways. Offering giveaways or freebies from time to time is a nice way to show your customers how much you appreciate their support. It doesn’t matter how small the item is, people always love to receive freebies. Whether it’s a coffee mug, umbrella, pen, key chain, calendar, cap, paper weight or tee shirt, put your company’s logo and brand name on it.
Post cards. Postcard marketing is another tried and tested offline marketing technique. Unlike business letters, postcards are not in an envelope so people can immediately read your message the moment they receive it from their mail.
Marketing postcards may only contain short messages but if you know how to use a strong headline and call-to-action words, it will surely capture the recipient’s attention and encourage the reader to take a positive action. Postcards are useful not only for making announcements, but for inviting people to check out your business website as well. Remember, not everyone spends a lot of time surfing the web and not everyone knows where to find your shop online.
Word of mouth. Last but not the least, take advantage of the power of word-of-mouth. If you have happy customers, they surely wouldn’t mind spreading good word about your business.
However, although some of them may recommend your products or services to their friends and families, it is always worth the effort to request them to do so. You may even offer incentives for every customer who makes a successful referral. Don’t be afraid to ask for endorsements especially if you are confident that you are giving quality services.

I’ve been giving away freebies whenever there are occasions such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day. It’s certainly true that people are appreciative of what they receive as long as they’re free. I am so happy that that ’til now, my customers continue to patronize my business.
